Come as you are.  No admission.  No dress code.  No judging.
Bring your doubts, questions, and noisy kids.
God doesn't reject people. Neither do we.

Welcome to Westwood Hills Congregational Church!

It is our honor to greet you!

Our church strives to be a community of seekers and a family of faith. We are g
rateful to be able to walk our spiritual journey together, lending support and encouragement to one another. Your questions are welcome here, for we are constantly learning together. We believe strongly in the priesthood of all believers, and we value the ministry of each person in our faith community. We are all a part of the work of God’s ministry – in local and global ways. We hope that you will bring us new ways of seeing God and living in faith, and that you will find this a safe place for your own seeking.

Blessings,

Rev. Kirsten Linford

The Lyrics of Lent ... and EnvironLentalism

We have many activities planned for this special church season - click here for a complete schedule.

Also, our Social Action & Outreach Board is proud to once again sponsor an environmental awareness month that coincides with Lent.  We feel that Lent's themes of sacrifice and inward reflection fit perfectly with the concept of being a more conscious environmental steward, and we're planning a series of events, special messages, and challenges to encourage the congregation to think green!

Next Sunday (March 7) we'll be showing an environmental-themed film, "A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash" after worship. We'll be showing the film in Ray Hall.  Come join us for lunch and learn about the history of our addiction to fossil fuels and what the future may bring.

Our environLENTalism campaign will tentatively conclude March 21 with our second annual "Green Sunday," where we will celebrate Mother Earth by wearing green, worshiping on the patio, and enjoying special earth-themed hymns and messages.

Through One Great Hour of Sharing, United Church of Christ members reach out in the name of Christ to:

Build sustainable communities. OGHS supports self-help programs in more than 80 nations to build sustainable communities that enable people and communities to stand against and rise above hunger, disease, illiteracy, and other forces of injustice that deny and destroy dignity.

Respond to disaster. OGHS provides emergency and long-term assistance to people in the aftermath of hurricanes, tornados, storms, floods, tidal waves, fires, explosions, technological disasters, civil strife, war, or other natural or human-caused events. On average, OGHS responds to a disaster once every 2.5 days.

Our faith is 2000 years old. Our thinking is not.
